A symphonic masterpiece, that’s the best way to describe the song “Song For America“ by the American band Kansas. It’s the title track from the album of the same name and characteristic for its electronic guitar melodies, sparkling synths and impressive violin play. Kansas found themselves redefining their music after their debut album a year before. Besides the title track the album offers a lot other quality pieces. "Lamplight Symphony” offers long orchestrated passages, while "Down the Road" shows their energy to the max. The music is truly a fascinating blend of prog rock and bar rock, making it one of the definite milestones of American prog.
Kansas became popular during the 1970s with hits like "Carry On Wayward Son" and "Dust in the Wind". Besides their well-known ballads they also recorded some impressive progressive pieces. The diversity of their music and immense energy of the band is the reason why they're still performing and recording.
Song For America is available as a 50th anniversary edition of 1500 individually numbered copies on red coloured vinyl and includes an insert.

Received in excellent condition. Sound quality is exceptional on this vinyl. Very happy with this purchase. Gave my CD to a friend and I’m listening to this great vinyl record now.
Although the sound of this pressing is not spectacular, it is very good! A discogs review claimed that this pressing "taps you on the shoulders and slaps you in the face" but I wouldn't go so far as to say that it does. But I would say that this pressing sounds fresh and more modern thanks to the better low-end this MOV reissue offers.
It's a very dynamic record with lots of detail and it truly is a great reissue. I did notice a remarkable sonic difference on 'Radio Silence', very detailed and modern sound.
The vinyl labels are a great touch and the printing quality of the sleeve and insert are better than the original.

Received my box set today #0013 very pleased, I knew MOV would do these records justice was surprised to see Found All The Parts as a 12” vs the original 10 I only got through In Color but plan on diving into rest all week as time allows. I know as Cheap Trick fans we all have these but do yourself a favor and get this.

Fantastic pressing, by MOV. I didn't know what to expect when I opened the seal but the first bars of 'Jump (For My Love)' were enough to know that this is a great pressing. The moog shines like never before and the synths sound electric ⚡. Vocals are clear and center of stage.
Even in the chaotic passages the record stands tall and the separation stays in tact. I love the fact that 'I'm So Excited ' is included on this version because apart from Energy I won't need another Pointer Sisters record.
The artwork is nice and looks authentic. Not blurry at all, the same quality as an old record sleeve from the 80's which is good. Also the reproduction of the Planet labels is a nice touch.
The purple vinyl is dead silent and fits the theme of the sleeve, although I prefer black, this pressing doesn't seem to have any faults.
