DESCRIPTION

Stray are an English hard rock band formed in London in 1966. Their brand of melodic, hook-laden hard rock proved to be a popular draw on the local club scene during the early 1970s. However, the band never achieved commercial success, but over the years their debut album has proven to be a classic among connoisseurs.

The group's early musical style consisted of blues rock, acid rock and psychedelic rock. They then went on to join the hard rock and progressive rock movement, it is clearly the latter two styles that form the core of their eclectic eponymous debut from 1970. The bandmembers were only 18-19 years old at the time of release which is pretty astounding.

In 2003, Stray were the support band to Iron Maiden on several of their European dates on the Dance of Death World Tour. (Iron Maiden did a cover of "All In Your Mind" on their No Prayer For The Dying album) and they are still to be seen on the road today.

Stray is now available, in the iconic die-cut gatefold sleeve, as a numbered limited edition of 1000 copies on white vinyl.

Great re-issue! The first batch of the series (of 5 batches of 3!) Has just arrived and had their first spin. Great sound, silent and flat vinyl. Just the way I have come to expect from Music On Vinyl. Let the next batch come!

Does justice to the original

Although the sound of this pressing is not spectacular, it is very good! A discogs review claimed that this pressing "taps you on the shoulders and slaps you in the face" but I wouldn't go so far as to say that it does. But I would say that this pressing sounds fresh and more modern thanks to the better low-end this MOV reissue offers.

It's a very dynamic record with lots of detail and it truly is a great reissue. I did notice a remarkable sonic difference on 'Radio Silence', very detailed and modern sound.

The vinyl labels are a great touch and the printing quality of the sleeve and insert are better than the original.

Received my box set today #0013 very pleased, I knew MOV would do these records justice was surprised to see Found All The Parts as a 12” vs the original 10 I only got through In Color but plan on diving into rest all week as time allows. I know as Cheap Trick fans we all have these but do yourself a favor and get this.
