Ennio Morricone, The Maytals, Livin' Blues, Philip Glass, Anastacia and Outlander.
“It could have been extremely boring to write musical scores for only westerns of horror films. It was really exciting for me to work in all these various genres.” - Ennio Morricone
Lounge is the third release in the Ennio Morricone Themes collection, with songs that set the mood on the excitement of a 1950s cocktail lounge or a 1960s nightclub. Some of the greatest tracks The Maytals recorded are included on Monkey Man, like the self-titled “Monkey Man” (covered by the legendary Amy Winehouse) and “Pressure Drop”. The Livin' Blues' Wang Dang Doodle is without doubt one of the best Dutch Blues albums of all time, while the wonderful Box Set Satyagraha is the second in Philip Glass' trilogy about men who changed the world. Besides we have a new At The Movies release available, the fifth season of Outlander, composed by Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Cloverfield, Black Sails). New coloured vinyl editions are available of Randy California's Kaptain Kopter and the (Fabulous) Twirly Birds (transparent and black swirled vinyl), Anastacia's Not That Kind (translucent pink vinyl), and Frank Boeijen's Mooiste en Beste (black and white mixed vinyl).
Lounge is the third in a series of five double vinyl releases that bring together some of Ennio Morricone's greatest soundtrack music. Each collection centres on a different movie genre, together they allow the listener to rediscover the unmatched genius of the greatest movie composer of all time. The Maestro. This collection was announced before Ennio Morricone passed away on July 6, 2020. We'll continue to release the series to honour this great composer.
Kapt. Kopter and the (Fabulous) Twirly Birdsis a 1972 studio album by Randy California. The resulting album featured numerous covers of the works of contemporary acts such as the Beatles and James Brown, with less emphasis upon original material by Randy.
The second in Glass' trilogy about men who changed the world, Satyagraha's sub-text is politics. The opera is semi-narrative in form and deals with Mahatma Gandhi's early years in South Africa and his development of non-violent protest into a political tool.
Outlander is a historical drama television series based on the novel series of the same name by Diana Gabaldon. Just like the previous seasons the music is composed by American film and television composer Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Cloverfield, Black Sails).
Wang Dang Doodle is without doubt one of the best Dutch Blues albums of all time. Together with Cuby & The Blizards The Livin' Blues were responsible for the fine blues albums the Dutch released by the end of the '60s, early '70s.
Raised in a musical family Anastacia first developed a career as a dancer, appearing in video clips and on MTV shows. Her debut album Not That Kind was released in 2000 and immediately struck a nerve in Europe, Asia and Australia, before hitting it big in the US.
