Stone Sour unleashed their eponymous debut album in 2002 and was immediately confirmed as one of the most popular and significant hard rock outfits of the 21st century. The self-titled album including Corey Taylor and Jim Root, who are both part of Slipknot, is now available on vinyl for the very first time. The first 1500 copies are individually numbered and pressed on mixed coloured crystal clear with a tip of black vinyl!
From the department of hip hop we have two new reissues this week. First up is the greatest hits album Los Grandes Éxitos en Español by Cypress Hill. As the title suggests it's completely in their mother tongue Spanish, so brush up your lingo! And we have the Immobilarity album by Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon (a.k.a. The Chef) cooking up some hot joints.
Especially for our Dutch fans; we are proud to present a 'Best Of' album by Dutch top cabaret singer Claudia de Breij, currently touring across the lowlands with her New Years Eve conference (to be seen nationwide on Dutch TV on New Years Eve).
For our AT The Movies releases we have The Magnificient Seven Original Soundtrack, which is quite special as it is the posthumous James Horner musical score and sadly his last composition. The album is available in limited amount on red vinyl.
Then we have an Original Soundtrack by master composer, John Williams, for the 1997 Seven Years in Tibet movie. Classical cellist Yo-Yo Ma joined him on the title theme and on most of the instrumental tracks there are several tantric excerpts from the Tibetan Gyuto Monks. This one will be on limited snow white vinyl.
Have a great weekend,
Immobilarity is the second studio album and the follow-up to Only Built 4 Cuban Linx by Wu-Tang Clan-member Raekwon (a.k.a. The Chef). The album, which was originally released in 1999, reached to number 2 in the US Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and number 4 in the US Billboard album charts and was certified gold by the RIAA.
Los Grandes Éxitos en Español is a greatest-hits album in Spanish by Cypress Hill. It was certified Platinum by the RIAA. With exception of the last track, which was previously unreleased, together with "Latin Lingo," and "Tres Equis" which appeared on Cypress Hill [MOVLP041], the album features old songs with new Spanish lyrics.
The music of Seven Years in Tibet is composed by American film composer John Williams. He has won 5 Academy Awards, 4 Golden Globe Awards, 7 BAFTA Awards, and 21 Grammy Awards for his musical work. Classical cellist Yo-Yo Ma is featured on the title theme and on most of the instrumental tracks plus there are several tantric excerpts from the Tibetan Gyuto Monks.
Stone Sour is an American rock band formed in Des Moines, Iowa. Originally released in 2002, Stone Sour is the debut studio album by the band. The album received positive reviews and was praised for showing diversity in Taylor's vocals. Eventually it received certified Gold in the United States.
The Maginificent Seven is a remake of the 1960 same-titled western film, which in turn was a remake of the 1954 Japanese classic film Seven Samurai. The score will be the final James Horner score to be released posthumously.
