The full list of all our exclusive releases that are available for Record Store Day 2022.
We are excited to present to you our releases for Record Store Day 2022. Our full list of releases will be split in two, celebrating both Record Store Day and a RSD Drop. Record Store Day 2022 is scheduled on April 23, while the RSD Drop will take place on June 18. This way we can bring you more releases without taking away any spotlight on the traditional record stores during their annual special day.
On April 23 you can find an exclusive reggae 10" which features tracks by Edi Fitzroy and DATC Dubcrew, which are all Mikey Dread productions. This 10" is availabel in three different colours and are distributed randomly. From reggae onto boogie with the holy grail of Dutch boogie - Steve Watson's "Born To Boogie" and "My Little One" are collected on 12" crystal clear vinyl. We highlight the singles this RSD and release another 10" that features the A's & B's from the legendary Shocking Blue At Home album. All eight featured tracks are newly remastered from the first-generation master tapes.
For RSD 2022 we have more releases coming from The Netherlands, including legendary jazz musician Toots Thielemans' European Quartet Live, which is available for the first time on vinyl to celebrate what would have been Thielemans' 100th birthday on April 29. Another first time on vinyl for Kensington's Unplugged and De Blauwe Schuit by De Dijk. And to end the list with a bang, De Kerk Van Melculy by the Belgian metal band Fleddy Melculy includes the track "668", so a limited amount of 668 copies will be available for Record Store Day 2022.
As for the RSD Drop on June 18, K's Choice live album Live In Europe is available on vinyl for the very first time, just like Engineers' mini album Folly. The Swedish rock guitarist John Norum performed at The Draken in Stockholm in 1988 of which the live recordings are captured on the EP Live In Stockholm. To add to the list, we have three more releases from Dutch origin. The debut album by Blue Feather, Feather Funk, is available as a 40th anniversary edition. Jack Van Poll recorded Hi Jackin' together with Mary Hehuat and Ruud Pronk in the trio they called Tree-oh. And last but definetely not least, Bühnensucht Live features the live recordings of the liveshow at Parkzicht, Rotterdam in 1985 by Herman Brood & His Wild Romance.

Dutch rock 'n roll artist, painter, actor and lyricist Herman Brood achieved great commercial and artistic success in the Seventies and Eighties. With his band Wild Romance, Brood recorded many albums, but they are best known for the album Shpritsz (1978), which featured their first hit single “Saturday Night”. The single was included in their live set at Parkzicht, Rotterdam in 1985. The live recordings of this show are featured on Bühnensucht (Live), which was originally released during that same year. The set also included “Get Married”, “Heatwave” and “Checking Out” amongst others.
British shoegaze band Engineers were formed in 2003 by Mark Peters, Simon Phipps, Dan MacBean and Andrew Sweeney. The band often cites Cocteau Twins, Spiritualized, and Slowdive as direct influences. In September 2004 the mini-album Folly arrived, preceded by the featured single “Come In Out Of The Rain” a week prior. The mini-album also featured a cover of Tim Hardin's “If I Were A Carpenter”.
Mikey Dread was a Jamaican singer who played an important role in the popularization of the reggae during the 1970s. This 10 inch features tracks by Edi Fitzroy and DATC Dubcrew, all produced by Mikey Dread himself.
Steve Watson's “Born To Boogie” (with the “Yacht Rock”-ish b-side “My Little One”) is one of the Holy Grails of Dutch Boogie and Funk 12-inches. Released in 1981 on the Dutch Killroy Records label, there were two different 7-inches (with each their own version of the track) and one 12-inch available. With its electronic synths, melody and vocals, it's a prime example of the post-disco sound, which was played in the famous Paradise Garage Club (New York, US) by legendary DJ Larry Levan.
Live In Europe was originally included as a bonus disc with the CD Almost Happy in 2002 and is now available on vinyl for the first time. Live In Europe contains 15 songs, recorded during concerts in Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany - including “Not An Addict”, “Everything For Free”, “God In My Bed”, “Winter”, “If You're Not Scared” and many more well-known and lesser known fan favourites.
Aside from being one of the founding members of legendary rock band Europe, Swedish guitarist John Norum also maintains an impressive career as a solo artist. In 1990, Norum released a mini live EP, recorded in 1988, Live in Stockholm.
Unplugged is the last album by the popular Dutch band Kensington with Eloi as frontman. The whole set was recorded during three sold out shows that took place in TivoliVredenburg in their hometown Utrecht (NL). Kensington was accompanied by a string quartet and brass section.
Even into his eighties, Toots Thielemans set the standards for jazz harmonica. He started developing his musical force when he was only three years old with playing the accordion. But it was his skill on the harmonica that brought him international fame, and it's that skill which is to the fore on European Quartet Live, featuring a set of well-known tunes taken from concerts in 2006, '07 and '08. Thielemans recorded these sets with pianist Karel Boehlee, bassist Hein van de Geyn and drummer Hans van Oosterhout.
Dutch soul and funk band Blue Feather was founded by brothers Ed and Ronald Brouwer in 1976. Soon Jan Willem Weeda, Dirk Nusink and Rob Hoelen joined and together they developed a mix of quality 80's funk/disco, a unique sound for a Dutch band. The first single “It's Love” came out in 1980, but it was the 1981 released double a-sided 12-inch with the long versions of “Call Me Up” and “Let's Funk Tonight” that gave the band success. Due to their rising success, record label Phonogram decided that an album needed to be released promptly. This resulted in their first full-length album Feather Funk in 1982. The album was recorded in Wisseloord Studios and features all three singles.
