The GoldenYears of Dutch Pop Musicis a new Music On Vinyl series of compilation albums by Dutch bands that were not only ground-breaking and successful in the sixties and seventies in the Netherlands but also far beyond the Dutch borders. Each double album contains the most important original A sides and a selection of B sides and/or relevant album tracks. Newly remastered audio for vinyl and redesigned artwork, including English liner notes.
TheNederbeat ClassicsLP is a compilation of Dutch Nederbeat Artists and Bands and highlights the sound from some of Holland's most successful acts from the 60s and 70s, including songs by The Motions, Golden Earrings, The Shoes, The Cats, Sandy Coast, Brainbox and more.
The Outsiders, led by their charismatic lead singerWally Tax, were known for their rough, uncompromising sound and live performances that would slowly bring the band to fame in the 60s. "Lying All The Time" became their first top ten hit. More hits followed shortly thereafter. To complete this package, we included a selection of B-sides.
The Motions,hailing from The Hague, were pioneers of the classic Nederbeat sound. In 1965 they scored an instant hit with "Wasted Words" and recorded "Their Own Way" album with Scott Walker. This compilation includes three solo songs by singer Rudy Bennett; "How Can We Hang On To A Dream", "Amy" and "I'm So Proud".
Earth And Firewas formed by Dutch brothers Chris and Gerard Koerts. They were later joined by Jerney Kaagman on vocals. Dutch guitar player and founding member of Golden Earring, George Kooymans wrote Earth And Fire's first hit "Seasons" and several singles followed with "Weekend" becoming their biggest one. Besides all their big hits there is a plethora of B sides to be found on the double album.
Livin' Blueswas a sturdy blues rock band and performed for crowds all over the world. Their vast repertoire included original songs and blues covers from Willie Dixon and Fats Domino. Selected B sides and album tracks are included.
Last but not least in The Golden Years Of Dutch Pop Music series isKayak. Kayak were trendsetters in the symphonic pop genre. Their "Phantom Of The Night album gained them worldwide attention. Record World magazine named them Most Promising Newcomer of 1979. The hit singles are coupled with B sides and presents a nice overview of their career.
