NEW RELEASES WEEK 31

The Fate Of The Furious, Menace II Society, Buddy Guy, Highwaymen, F.U. Schnickens, TELEX

This week we'll start with two fantastic At The Movies releases!

First up is the ultimate score of the action-packed movie The Fate Of The Furious, also known as Fast & Furious 8. The music is written by talented composer Brian Tyler and completely amplifies the action of the last instalment in the franchise. The first pressing is now available as a limited edition on silver vinyl, the album also includes an exclusive poster and a gatefold with special spot varnish effect.

The soundtrack to the hood drama Menace II Society is a great compilation of old school Hip Hop and R&B songs, which brings the listener back to the ghetto in Los Angeles around the 90s. It includes tracks by MC Eiht, Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth, Boogie Down productions and more. The limited edition is pressed on red vinyl.

Fu-schnickens was a brief popular, but significant Hip Hop group from the USA. Their debut album F.U. Don't Take It Personal featured the hit singles "Ring The Alarm" and "True Fu-Schnick" and is a wonderful addition alongside the likes of KRS-One, Wu-Tang Clan, A Tribe Called Quest and more. The reissue of this phat album is now available!

Another release of the country music supergroup by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson is Highwayman 2. This second studio album is another genius production by the greatest men of their trade.

Buddy Guy is not widely known for his acoustic work, but he definitely knows how to unplug for a rare album length on the album Blues Singer. Guy is just as convincing as on his electric albums and this makes the album one of the bravest and most poignant albums in his catalogue.

If you're into disco and experimental electronic music, the album Looking For Saint-Tropez is the one to get! The track "Moskow Diskow" created the international breakthrough for the band TELEX, but every track consists of clever, playful melodies. The album is the latest release in the Brewed in Belgium series and is out now!

Have a great weekend,

CASH, NELSON, JENNINGS, KRISTOFFERSON - HIGHWAYMAN 2

Highwayman 2 is the second studio album released by American country supergroup The Highwaymen, which reached #4 on the country album chart. The Lee Clayton-penned song "Silver Stallion" was the first single and made the country Top 40.

  • 180 gram audiophile vinyl
  • Nominated for a Grammy in the category 'Best Country Vocal Collaboration'
FU-SCHNICKENS - F.U. DON'T TAKE IT PERSONAL
Even before they made it to the record bins, three-man New York crew Fu-Schnickens created quite a buzz in the hip-hop community with the oddity of their group name. Once they dropped their debut album, F.U. Don't Take It Personal, their music turned out to be every bit as curious and intriguing.
  • 180 gram audiophile vinyl
  • Includes 4 page insert with rap lyrics
  • Featuring the classic hip hop tracks "True Fuschnick", "Ring The Alarm" and "La Schmoove"
BUDDY GUY - BLUES SINGER
Not known for his acoustic work, Buddy Guy unplugs for a rare album-length excursion into folk blues. The guitarist gets down and dirty with 12 tracks that sound like they were recorded after hours in his living room or on his back porch.
  • 180 gram audiophile vinyl
  • Gatefold sleeve
  • Grammy Award 2004 winner in the category 'Best Traditional Blues Album'
OST - MENACE II SOCIETY (MC EIHT, PETE ROCK & C.L. SMOOTH, BOOGIE DOWN PRODUCTIONS)
The soundtrack is a nice compilation of old school Rap and R&B songs, which brings the listener to the Los Angeles hood in the 90s. It derived from the 1993 American hood drama thriller film Menace II Society.
  • 180 gram audiophile vinyl
  • PVC protective sleeve
  • Including insert
  • Tracks from Spice 1, Mc Eiht, Ant Banks, Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth, Boogie Down Productions and many more
