It's time to bring in the pioneers of electronic music, the godfather of shock-rock, a heavy metal cult classic, mixed with some baroque and hardcore Belpop.
Back in the days when the first synthesizers appeared, German musician Klaus Schulze immediately started experimenting with the equipment. Decades later he collaborated with another electronic-musician, the late Pete Namlook, on The Dark Side of the Moog series. Each volume in the series is based on a Pink Floyd title and this week we're releasing Volume 1: Wish You Were There and Volume 2: A Saucerful Of Ambience. Both volumes are colourful trips through their world of ambient and electronic music. Volume 3 & 4 will be released next month. The combined front covers of these four volumes, form one bigger image.
"The Godfather of Shock Rock" Alice Cooper released his 20th studio album The Last Temptation back in 1994. The album is available on flaming vinyl. Only 2.000, individually numbered, copies are available.
We've got a special 60's cult release this week entitled Walk Away Renée/Pretty Ballerina, recorded by the baroque pop band The Left Banke. The album entered the global charts and both title-songs became big hit singles. Fun fact; This album was released right before Michael McKean (who plays Chuck in Better Call Saul) joined the band.
The power metal of Scanner marked a highlight of the late 80s metal scene. Their debut album Hypertrace is based around the storyline of a science fiction adventure. It's a true cult classic of power metal. Hypertrace is available as a limited edition of 500 copies, pressed on red vinyl.
Are you ready for "Fleddymania"? Fleddy Melculy struck a chord with their humorous, yet painfully honest debut single "T-shirt van Metallica". Their style can be described as a weird mix of brutal hardcore, heavy metal riffs and stand-up comedy. Helgië, their debut album, is now available on flaming coloured vinyl. 666 individually numbered copies are available. This limited edition package contains an exclusive (and explicit) mini-poster. Go watch them live in Holland and Belgium throughout the summer.Have a great weekend,
The MOV Crew
Take a look at the name of the Belgian band Fleddy Melculy and you know they got a good sense of humor. Combine this fact with their heavy metal music and you got a unique musical combination.
