NEW RELEASES WEEK 16

This week brings an exotic mix of music flavours!

Justin Timberlake
is a man of multiple talents. Next to singing and writing he started composing motion picture soundtracks. His debut for the The Book Of Love is nothing but amazing, now available on a limited pressing on red coloured vinyl!

The brand new album Score by Croatian Duo 2Cellos is filled with popular melodies for films and television series like Game Of Thrones, Gladiator, Godfather and many more. The first 1.000 copies of this album are pressed on white vinyl.

We also present you a release by one of the biggest session musicians of all time; Big Jim Sullivan. Playing on around 750 charting singles in the 1960s and 1970s, including 54 UK number one hits. When exotic beats enjoyed certain popularity in the West, Big Jim picked up the Sitar and created an entire album filled with exotic flavours on his Sitar Beat.

Dr. John, aka The Night Tripper, is present in this new batch of releases. His album The Sun Moon & Herbs is described by Allmusic as "dark and swampy" and "best listened to on a hot, muggy night with the sound of thunder rumbling off in the distance like jungle drums".

Our last release for this week is A Salty Dog, by progressive rock band Procol Harum. Their third album, originally released in 1969, has proven to be a solid 5 star masterpiece.

Have a nice one with this week's releases.

DR JOHN -THE SUN MOON & HERBS

The Sun Moon & Herbs by Dr. John is described by Allmusic as "dark and swampy" and "best listened to on a hot, muggy night with the sound of thunder rumbling off in the distance like jungle drums".

The center-piece of the album is "Familiar Reality," a long cut based on one evil-sounding Stones-type riff. As usual, Dr. John's strength lies in his galvanizing; mesmerizing choruses. The ones on "Black John the Conqueror" and "File Gumbo" are unforgettable.

PROCOL HARUM - A SALTY DOG

A Salty Dog is the 3rd studio album by English progressive rock band Procol Harum, originally released in 1969. The album has an ostensibly nautical theme, as indicated by its cover (a pastiche of the famous Player's Navy Cut cigarette pack).

A Salty Dog showed a slight change of direction from its predecessors, being thematically less obscure. The title track itself was their first track with an orchestra, as would be referred to in the live album performance some three years later.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE - THE BOOK OF LOVE (ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK)
Justin Timberlake, the multi-platinum pop star, actor and owner of handfuls of Grammys and Emmys, composed the orchestral film together with Mitchell Owens. His debut composition is nothing but amazing. Justin takes you on a minimalistic reflective trip. The score is emotionally driven and shows pure honesty, which is the most supreme form in which an artist can express himself.
