New MOV titles in stores October 28th

Including Golden Earring, Jan Smit, the score to 'Killing Zoe' and the second batch of the Silverchair Collection amongst others. 

This week's vinyl batch contains a dozen new titles, including the soundtrack to the 1994 bank heist movie Killing Zoe. This score by Tomandandy is available on black vinyl, flaming coloured vinyl and as our ATM Shop exclusive on translucent “bloody” red coloured vinyl. More new soundtracks that are now in stores: Hania Rani's score to Venice - Infinitely Avantgarde and It Follows by Disasterpeace on black & white marbled vinyl.

The wait is finally over for the second batch of the Silverchair Collection, starring Freak Show. This 1996 album is available on yellow & blue marbled vinyl. The batch includes four additional 12 inches, Freak, Abuse Me, Cemetery and The Door.

Finally, three albums from Dutch origin. First, the 1992 live album The Naked Truth by Golden Earring, which features acoustic versions of their biggest hits and is pressed on gold coloured vinyl. Second is the brand new album Boven Jan by Jan Smit, available on orange coloured vinyl. Third and final is André Hazes Alleen Voor Jou on gold coloured vinyl.

Killing Zoe is a 1994 crime / bank heist film written, directed and produced by Roger Avary and co-produced by Quentin Tarantino. The score to Killing Zoe was produced by Tomandandy, aka Thomas Hajdu and Andy Milburn. This duo is best known for their horror scores like The Hills Have Eyes and The Strangers amongst others and many collaborations with great artists such as Lou Reed, David Byrne, U2 and Laurie Anderson.

“The Door” is the fourth and last single taken from Silverchair's second album Freak Show. The three live songs on Side B were recorded in Chicago's Aragon Ballroom on 20 April 1997. Jeremy Chatelain from the band Handsome provides vocals on “Minor Threat”.

It Follows features a stunning, electronic-driven score, heavy with pulsating synths and dread in equal measure. It was composed by the renowned musician Disasterpeace. This electro, 80s influenced score is a character in itself in the movie, and will haunt the listener long after the film has stopped rolling.

Freak Show is the second studio album by Australian alternative rock band Silverchair, which was originally released in 1996. The album was well received, appeared in many charts all over the world and received a nomination for the 1997 ARIA Music Award for Best Group. This 14-track set included four singles, “Freak”, “Abuse Me”, “Cemetery” and “The Door”.

Hania Rani is a Polish pianist, composer and singer. She employs a delicate, vulnerable, and minimalist playing style with modern recording techniques to evoke themes of self, home, and landscape. Her score for Venice - Infinitely Avantgarde is a fruit of Rani's city walks through Venice and discovering its museums, narrow streets, and landmarks. The documentary, directed by Michele Mally, follows a tour through the city and takes in masterpieces by Tiepolo, Canaletto, Rosalba Carriera.

“Cemetery” is the third single from Silverchair's 1997 album Freak Show. “Cemetery” was originally composed by frontman Daniel Johns as a solo acoustic piece while still living at home. Originally, Johns had no intention of including it on a Silverchair album.

GOLDEN EARRING - THE NAKED TRUTH

Around 1992, the unplugged sessions on MTV were a trend; almost every rock band or artist was doing them. Bass player Rinus Gerritsen suggested to record an acoustic album themselves. The record company wasn't very enthusiastic at first so with a small budget the band recorded the album live in an intimate cafe in Amsterdam. The Naked Truth turned out to be the Golden Earring's bestselling album.
