Including Al Jarreau, Queensrÿche, Toy Matinee and Urban Dance Squad amongst others.
It's Friday, which means that the workweek is coming to an end, but also that we have many new MOV titles that are in stores now:
Al Jarreau's most popular album to date, Breakin' Away, which earned him a Grammy nomination and is now available on crystal clear & pink mixed vinyl. For the first time available on vinyl are the 2006 live recordings of Queensrÿche at The Moore Theatre, captured on the 4LP Mindcrime At The Moore on red, white & black marbled vinyl. Toy Matinee's eponymous 1990 album was their first, but unfortunately also last album. It featured the popular tracks “The Ballad Of Jenny Ledge” and “Last Place Out” and is now available on blue coloured vinyl. Urban Dance Squad's Singles Collection is available on translucent red coloured vinyl and features all essential and noteworthy tracks from the Dutch noise-rap group. Then we also have some iconic soundtracks...
Locally, we have some career spanning compilations albums of two legendary Dutch singers: Rob de Nijs Het Beste Van and Frank Boeijen Het Mooiste & Het Beste Van and Het Mooiste & Het Beste Van 2.
Available on black vinyl are Black Stone Cherry Black Stone Cherry, Modern Talking Back For Good (The 7th Album) and Morcheeba The Antidote.
Stef Bos)”.
The progressive metal band Queensrÿche broke into the mainstream with their acclaimed 1988 album Operation: Mindcrime. Its sequel, Operation: Mindcrime II was released in 2006 and contained the singles “I'm American” and “The Hands”. In support of the album, the band went on tour and performed the two albums in their entirety for three consecutive nights in October 2006 at The Moore Theatre in Seattle.
This essential Urban Dance Squad compilation collects all the band's hits and noteworthy tracks from their first album Mental Floss For The Globe right up until 1999's Artantica. Songs like "Deeper Shade Of Soul". "Fast Lane", "Good Grief", "Demagogue", "Temporarily Expendable", "Happy Go Fucked Up", the list goes on.
Toy Matinee had a short but celebrated career with their only album, the 1990 eponymous self-titled album. Their sound featured an array of influences, including progressive rock and pop.
Breakin' Away is a great follow-up of Soul crooner Al Jarreau to his previous album This Time. The album was released in 1981 and became the standard bearer of the L.A. Pop and R&B sound. The album was certified Platinum by the RIAA.The album was created with an amazing producer/artist chemistry, and top-level players like George Duke, David Foster, Dean Parks, and Steve Gadd can be heard on this record.
