Swedish singer-songwriter Sophie Zelmani had no musical background whatsoever, but managed to rise to the top of the charts with her debut album in 1995. Her ninth album Soul was originally released in 2011 and features the duet “For You” with Daniel Lemma.
Prometheus is a 2012 science fiction horror film directed by Ridley Scott, written by Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof and starring Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Charlize Theron. It is set in the late 21st century and centers on the crew of the spaceship Prometheus as it follows a star map discovered among the artifacts of several ancient Earth cultures. Seeking the origins of humanity, the crew arrives on a distant world and discovers a threat that could cause the extinction of the human species.
Dutch alternative rock singer Anouk released her third studio album Graduated Fool in 2002, which was leaning towards a hard rock album. It included three singles, “Everything”, “Hail” and “I Live For You”, of which the first two charted well.
After the big breakthrough with her debut album, Anouk released her follow-up album Urban Solitude in 1999. Not long after its release, Urban Solitude was certified Platinum in the Netherlands and Gold in Belgium.
Canadian vocalist James LaBrie is best known as the lead singer of progressive metal band Dream Theater, but has also released five solo albums under various names. In 2010 he released his second solo album Static Impulse, which features a more melodic death metal approach while still keeping the progressive elements from the previous albums.
Live is a double live album released by Dutch rock band Golden Earring in 1977. With its long, spun out versions of classic Golden Earring songs (lasting between 5 and 12 minutes each), this record is vastly different than other live registrations by the band.
Together Alone is the debut album of Anouk, released in 1997. It features her hitsingle "Nobody's Wife" produced by Barry Hay, George Kooymans and John Sonneveld and the follow-up singles "Mood Indigo" and "Sacrifice".The album went three times platinum and cemented her status as best selling artist of that year in the Netherlands.
