New MOV titles in stores April 21

Including Pharoah Sanders, BZN, Nneka, Roy Orbison, Yo-Yo Ma, and John Williams amongst others.

Remember tomorrow, when you're all off to your local record store for Record Store Day 2023, to also look for the following titles as they are new in stores:

The sophomore album No Longer At Ease by Nigerian-German singer Nneka, which is available as a 15th anniversary edition on flaming coloured vinyl. Also new is Roy Orbison's 1979 album Laminar Flow, featuring guest performances by Steppenwolf-guitarist Larry Byrom and singer Mac McAnally. The album is pressed on “Bloody Mary” coloured vinyl. Fans of jazz ballads look out for our release of Welcome To Love by Pharoah Sanders, which is available on yellow coloured vinyl. Also available on yellow coloured vinyl, is the soundtrack for the 2014 film Enemy by Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans. The duo is best known for scoring Ozark.

In addition, several reissues on coloured vinyl: the classical album Sing Me Home by Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble, Juicy Lucy's eponymous self-titled debut album, and John Williams score for Memoirs Of A Geisha.

And final, the ultimate compilation album The Very Best Of, which features nothing but the greatest hits by one of The Netherlands most legendary bands BZN.

Memoirs Of A Geisha (2005) is the award-winning drama film adaptation of the novel. The original score and songs were composed and conducted by John Williams. The album won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score, BAFTA Award for Best Film Music, and the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media. It was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Score.

Roy Orbison was always noted for his impassioned singing style, complex song structures, and dark, emotional ballads. Roy Orbison released his 21st studio album Laminar Flow in 1979. It features guest performances by Steppenwolf-guitarist Larry Byrom and singer-songwriter Mac McAnally. The album includes the track “Hound Dog Man”, which is a tribute to Elvis Presley.

Enemy is a 2013 psychological drama film directed by Denis Villeneuve and produced by M. A. Faura and Niv Fichman. The A24 film stars Jake Gyllenhaal in a dual role as two men who are physically identical, but different in personality. The score is composed by Daniel Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans who gained major acclaim for their score of the popular Netflix series Ozark. Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans have been creating music together for over twenty years. In the last 10 years, they have completed well over 100 acclaimed film and TV scores.

The second studio album from Nigerian-German singer/songwriter Nneka, No Longer At Ease is a politically charged collection of songs which fuses an eclectic combination of Jamaican reggae, '70s soul-funk, drum'n'bass, and electronica. It is inspired by the Chinua Achebe novel of the same name. Its 15 tracks that are given a lo-fi edge, tackle a range of tough subjects, from the Niger Delta struggle to government corruption, to religious hypocrisy.

JUICY LUCY -  JUICY LUCY

Juicy Lucy formed after the demise of The Misunderstood. Steel guitarist Glenn Ross Campbell, and Blackburn saxophonist Chris Mercer recruited guitarist Neil Hubbard, bassist Keith Ellis, and drummer Pete Dobson to complete the band. Their eponymous debut album was originally released in 1969, and is a heavy form of  blues-rock, often played at break-neck speed. The album's cover features Burlesque dancer named Zelda Plum. The band immediately notched a UK Top 20 hit with a cover version of Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love?".

BZN - THE VERY BEST OF

BZN (Band Zonder Naam, a.k.a. Band Without A Name) started out as a pop-rock band, based in Volendam in 1966. Switching from hard rock to pop, the band went through several changes in line-up and scored their first commercial success with "Mon Amour" in 1976. This first success led to a string of hits, charting in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and even South Africa. After 42 years, their career came to an end in 2007 with a final concert at Ahoy Rotterdam.
