The Crown is a drama television series, created and written by Peter Morgan and produced by Left Bank Pictures and Sony Pictures Television for Netflix Original. The show tells the biographical story about the early reign of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom. Martin Phipps once again composed the haunting minimalistic soundtrack for this Golden Globe Award winning drama series.
Screamin' Jay Hawkins' most famous “I Put A Spell On You” was supposed to be a blues ballad. But when he and his musicians got drunk in the studio, they churned out one of the most gut-wrenching, utterly visceral songs in the history of pop. But it became a hit, which gave him license to record more of his slightly oddball operatic music, resulting in his first album At Home With Screamin' Jay Hawkins in 1958.
Pedals is the second studio album from post-hardcore band Rival Schools, released 10 years after their debut record United by Fate was first released. Where United by Fate was an album often ready to burst at the seams with energy, Pedals shows a more matured and controlled feel, even somewhat experimental at moments with bass tones and frequent use of acoustic guitars and distortion effects.
The progressive metal band Crimson Glory formed in Florida in 1982 and consisted of vocalist Midnight, guitarists Jeff Drenning and Ben Jackson, bassist Jeff Lords and drummer Dana Burnell. They played together for four years before recording their debut album Crimson Glory in 1986. Tight harmonies and soaring vocals are featured prominently on this release.
220 Volt were formed in 1979 in Östersund, Sweden by guitar players Thomas Drevin and Mats Karlsson, but gained traction after releasing their first single “Prisoner Of War” in 1982. In 1983 their debut album was released, selling over 10.000 copies in Sweden alone.

Magma is one of the most influential bands from France. Their music defies any of the standard and convenient classifications of rock, instead they operate in a realm of their own creation. There's a new queen in town. The Crown Season 3 will feature an entirely new cast of acclaimed actors taking over the very famous royal roles. The music for season three is composed by Martin Phipps, who has previously composed soundtracks for Black Mirror and Peaky Blinders. This neo-minimalistic score makes use of different tempos, string-based undertones and brass chorus lines.
In the late '70s Greg Sage formed his punk rock band Wipers. In 1987 their fifth studio album came out, Follow Blind. It was released on Restless Records and went on to become a cult classic.
