BLACK FRIDAY RECORD STORE DAY 2021

Stray Cats, Magma and Cranes.

It's finally there. We've been working up to this moment for many weeks to make sure it's a special one. No, we're not talking about Black Friday discounts. We're talking about exclusive, limited edition, Black Friday Record Store Day releases! And oh my, have we got something special in store for you..

All releases are exclusively available on Black Friday at your local (online) record store.

First, Stray Cats - Live at Rockpalast. This trifold sleeve contains 3 slabs of vinyl which feature the recordings of two legendary concerts of these rock-a-billy icons. The album starts with their 1983 set from Loreley Open Air, which was recorded just before the release of their third album Rant N' Rave. The second set was recorded a few years before, in 1981 in Cologne. This release lets you hear exactly how the Stray Cats established their reputation as a great live band.

Live at Rockpalast by Stray Cats is available as a limited edition of 4000 individually numbered copies on silver coloured vinyl and includes a 4-page booklet.

Second, another live recording: Magma's BBC 1974 Londres, which has never been released on vinyl before. This 2LP contains the recordings of one of the longest, if not thé longest studio session ever recorded for this show. Right in the middle of their second UK tour, Magma recorded one session for the John Peel sessions. Clocking in on 57 minutes, the band only played two pieces: “Theusz Hamtaahk” (LP 1) and “Köhntarkösz” (LP 2).Magma's BBC 1974 Londres is available as a limited edition of 2500 copies on translucent red coloured vinyl.

Third and final, Cranes. This is the first time ever that their EP Collection Volumes 1 and 2 is available on vinyl. This 3LP set features an extensive selection of their biggest successes; “Jewel”, “Paris and Rome (Flood Mix)”, “Adrift”, “Lillies (Flood Mix)”,  and the hidden bonus tracks “Slide” and “Starblood (remix)”. The record is housed in a deluxe heavyweight trifold sleeve and is available as a limited edition of 1500 individually numbered copies on solid blue (LP 1), silver (LP 2) and gold (LP 3) coloured vinyl.

CRANES - EP COLLECTION VOLUMES 1 & 2

Cranes formed in 1985 in Portsmouth, England by siblings Alison and Jim Shaw. EP Collection Volumes 1 & 2 is a triple disc set that features the majority of the Cranes' EP releases, which were among the group's best work. Cranes rarely sounded as effective or as eerie as they did on these EPs. The 3-LP set features 28 songs; an extensive selection of their biggest successes; “Jewel”, “Paris and Rome (Flood Mix)”,”Beach Mover”, ”Adrift”, “Inescapable”, “Lilies (Flood Mix)” a.o. This collection is available on vinyl for the first time.

The Stray Cats were born of the punk era, but it was evident from their love of pure rock & roll that rockabilly would be their driving force. Live At Rockpalast are recordings of two German live shows. The album starts with their 1983 set from Loreley Open Air, which was recorded just before the release of their third album Rant N' Rave. MAGMA - BBC 1974 LONDRES

Magma is one of the most influential bands from France. Their music defies any of the standard and convenient classifications of rock, instead they operate in a realm of their own creation. Early in the morning of March 14th 1974, right in the middle of their second UK tour, Magma recorded one session for the John Peel sessions, playing only two pieces, but clocking in at 57 minutes, making it one of the longest, if not thé longest, studio session ever recorded for this show; “Theusz Hamtaahk” (LP 1) & “Köhntarkösz” (LP 2).
