The PYE Girls, George Baker Selection, Peter Koelewijn, Billy Jones & The Stars, Jazz Behind The Dikes Vol 1
Although Black Friday might look a little different this year, there's still plenty of reason to shop vinyl 'till you drop. As a part of Record Store Day, we're exclusively reissuing a couple of awesome records.
The compilation album The Pye Girls Coloured My World (32 Brit Girl Tunes Of The Swinging Sixties) contains fantastic femme pop songs by Petula Clark, Jackie Trent, Shirley Abicair and many more iconic female singers from Pye Records. The LP is released as a limited edition of 1500 individually numbered copies on crystal water coloured vinyl.
As the album title suggests, George Baker Selection's Little Green Bag is released on translucent green vinyl as a limited edition with only 1000 individually numbered copies. This great debut album features the title track “Little Green Bag” as featured in Quentin Tarantino's “Reservoir Dogs”.
Pressed on purple vinyl with just 350 copies available, Peter Koelewijn's classic single Kom Van Dat Dak Af also gets an exclusive Black Friday reissue. There are four versions of the song featured on this release: the original 1960 version and the 1971 version on side A, and two live versions from the 80's on side B.
When it rains it pours, but only in the best way possible when Billy Jones & The Stars' Love Is Gonna Rain On You. This highly sought-after funk and soul album from US vocalist Billy Jones and Dutch backing band The Stars is released as a limited edition of 1000 copies on translucent yellow vinyl.
While jazz might not be the first genre that comes to mind when thinking about Dutch music, the compilation album Jazz Behind The Dikes Vol 1 showcases some of the best Dutch jazz artists, such as Rob Madna Trio and Tony Vos Quartet. The LP is now available as a limited edition of 500 copies on red vinyl.
