Kristjan Järvi, Arvo Pärt, Time Bandits, Panic, Trijntje Oosterhuis and Normaal.
We're nearing the end of 2021 and we're ready to end this year with a bang. No, we're not talking about fireworks. We're talking about killer vinyl, because it's in our name. Therefore, as our final releases of 2021, we present:
Time Bandits' Greatest Hits is available as a limited edition of 1000 copies on flaming coloured vinyl
The Original Soundtrack of Amazon Prime series Panic is available as a limited edition of 500 copies on translucent red coloured vinyl.
2020/1 by Normaal is available as a limited edition of 2000 copies on light green coloured vinyl and includes a 4-page booklet.
Trijntje Oosterhuis' Who'll Speak For Love (Burt Bacharach Songbook II) is available as a limited edition of 1000 copies on orange coloured vinyl.
Finally, we have a new title to add to our Classical collection: Cantique. In celebration of Arvo Pärt's 75th birthday in 2010, the Estonian-born and American-raised conductor Kristjan Järvi led the Rundfunk Sinfonie-Orchester Berlin and the RIAS Kammerchor in the performance of Pärt's Cantique. It is the first time that this classical album is available on vinyl, so we'd like to introduce it a bit further:
The Dutch band Time Bandits, formed by Alides Hidding, had both national and international success. Characteristic of Time Bandits is the professional sound of funk, disco, soul and rock and the unmistakable voice and guitar sound of Hidding. Time Bandits released four albums in total, which all made the charts all over the world and all feature several singles that became global hits.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of both the formation of Time Bandits and the release of their first single “Live It Up”, Music On Vinyl presents the vinyl edition of Greatest Hits, which features all their hits, various remixes and three fan-favorite bonus tracks; “Reach Out”, “Dancing On A String” and “Endless Road (High Energy Dance Mix by Ben Liebrand)”.
Panic is a new Amazon Prime Video one-hour drama series, written and created by Lauren Oliver (based on her bestselling novel), together with executive producers Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum and Adam Schroeder. It takes place in a small town in Texas, where every summer 23 graduating seniors compete in a series of challenges called the Panic competition. Winning with a cash prize of $50.000 will give them the best and only chance to escape the small town and change their lives for the better. The music in the series is created by Brian H. Kim and Isabella Summers. Summers is an English Emmy nominated musician, producer and composer who is best known as one of the founding members of Florence + the Machine. She also wrote, produced and remixed tracks for artists including Beyoncé, Jennifer Hudson, Rita Ora and LP.
After the first and successful release of The Look Of Love (Burt Bacharach Songbook) Trijntje follows up with her second interpretation of jazz standards. On Who'll Speak For Love, and teaming up again with Burt Bacharach, she performs 15 classics like “Any Day Now”, “This Girl's In Love”, “What The World Needs Now” and others. The Dutch Metrople Orkest provides the solid backing and is conducted by Vince Mendoza.
Cantique features the music of iconic Estonian composer Arvo Pärt. In celebration of Pärt's 75th birthday in 2010, Estonian-born and American-raised conductor Kristian Järvi led the Rundfunk Sinfonie-Orchester Berlin and the RIAS Kammerchor in the performance of Cantique. The album includes Pärt's “Symphony No. 3” and the world premiere recordings of the orchestral and choral version of his “Stabat mater” (1985/2008) and “Cantique des degrès” (1999/2002) for choir and orchestra.
