END OF THE YEAR THOUGHS. This was going to be our last year here. Posting of a photo of yourself with a vinyl for three years and a half straight can be a bit of a toll at times: creative blocks, lack of growth, fear of becoming stale and not being able to always make creative and charming posts are only some of the causes. If you enter the influencer side of Instagram new variables join the party: Extra pressure, urgency to come up for cool ideas, spare days sacrificed to make a photo shoot, meaningless collaborations. These were all decisions we made but the toll was still there, reaching a point where nothing was fun anymore. The plan was clear when I started 2019: Clear all the pending stuff and say our goodbyes. After that, I would focus on my family and other projects. The plan was working out until, by half of the year, Adriana, Noemí and me sufered a wake up call in our lifes we are still recovering from. I didn´t want to blend my goodbye with the situation we were dealing with so I took a week break to reflect on what is important in life. During that break I made some changes to my account. I was following legions of peope I didn´t know so I cut thousands and only kept the ones I knew, even deleting some friends by mistake. I lost hundreds of followers and my photos were getting less and less likes… But I started seeing photos of people I genuinely care about, people I wanted to interact more with. I also decided to cut meaningless collaborations that granted me records no one cared about, not even me. However, I kept working with the labels and the brands I really love and even new alliances came up. I went ahead posting more known albums, inventing new creative possibilities and forgiving ourselves if we fell sometimes in the formula territory or simply if a photo wasn´t perfect. On that period of time, your support, your likes and your comments meant the world to me and have made me acknowledge that sometimes is important to be brave and don´t be scared to evolve, even when that means taking a step back. We want to thank you for your loving support and we also want to make perfectly clear we are not going anywhere in 2020.
