For the recordings of Cherry, Turrentine and Jackson were accompanied by pianist Bob James, guitarist Cornell Dupree, bassist Ron Carter and Bill Cobham on drums.

Cherry is available as a 50th anniversary edition of 1500 individually numbered copies on translucent pink coloured vinyl, housed in a gatefold sleeve.
