Nena (1983) is the first album by German Pop Rock band Nena and the second studio album of its singer, Gabriele "Nena" Kerner. The album was a great success in West Germany and the second single "99 Luftballons" - a fable of nuclear war brought about by a bunch of balloons in the sky being mistaken on radar for a pre-emptive missile attack- successfully reached #1 in the music charts in the U.S. and worldwide.
