Two years after the Eurovision Song Contest and the release of the album Fool Bar, Douwe Bob releases his fourth album The Shape I'm In. Influenced by heartbreak he wrote a complete album in an intense session on an old ferry, partly about his broken heart and partly about self-reflection. How he got to know himself better by looking in the mirror. For an album that digs so deeply into his feelings, The Shape I'm In sounds surprisingly poppy. Douwe Bob has also adopted a new 'shape' from a musical point of view. He and his companions (Bram Hakkens: drums, Jeroen Overman: bass, JP Hoekstra: guitar, Matthijs van Duijvenbode: keys, Thijs Boontjes: keys) are no longer the craft seventies and sixties band of the three previous albums. It's a modern sounding album. 'This is a break-up record on which you can dance,' says Douwe Bob.
