Neil Diamond is one of America's most successful singer-songwriters scoring numerous hits worldwide in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s and selling over 115 million records.
In 2003 Neil Diamond got in touch with legendary producer Rick Rubin who encouraged Diamond to keep writing material over the course of a year. Rubin put together some of the same musicians he had used for Johnny Cash's American Recordings releases and encouraged Diamond to play guitar himself in the studio.
The end result was the 2005 release of 12 Songs, one of Diamond's most successful and critically acclaimed studio albums in years.
This rerelease comes with an extra 2 bonus tracks, ruining the album title but one of the bonus tracks features Brian Wilson so that shouldn't be a problem!
