The southern-style, Rhythm & Blues album Play The Blues by Buddy Guy & Junior Wells was recorded in the Miami Criteria Studios in the second half of 1970. This is probably the best recordings Guy & Wells ever made, sounding clean and smooth. An excellent blues album from two masters in blues!
Hope is important is Idlewood's debut album recorded in 1998, the first full length release filled with distortion, Roddy Woomble's screeching vocals and utter chaos. This transitional album marks the beginnings of boys becoming men. A raw emo-punk album full of energy, laying out the path this band is going to go on in the future.
Camerata RCO performs the classical Bach Goldberg Variations which are arranged by Soviet-Russian born orchestrator-arranger Dmitry Sitkovetsky. The Bach Goldberg Variations, BWV 988, is a work written for harpsichord by Johann Sebastian Bach, consisting of an aria and a set of 30 variations, after which the aria is repeated. The performers consisting of Annebeth Webb (violin), Jeroen Woudstra (viola) and Honorine Schaeffer (violoncello) are members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
100 broken Windows is raw, rough edged punk yet traditional in lyrics with tight raging tracks. These 4 Scots neglected everything that was happening in the music business at the time and went down their own path, producing intense rock songs about growing up in the working class inspired by the greats from late 80s and early 90s such as Nirvana and REM, Sonic Youth and The Pixies.
The album Rock 'n Soul was originally released in 1964 by Grammy Award winning Solomon Burke (†2010). 7 tracks ended up in Top 100 Billboard Hits at the time. "If You Need Me" went as high as #2 in the Black Singles Chart. This extraordinary album is not only soulful but a confirmation that Burke is a genius when it comes to writing music and making it happen in a studio!
The soundtrack to the groundbreaking 2015 PlayStation® 4 game Everybody's Gone to the Rapture features the music of BAFTA-nominated composer Jessica Curry. The music was recorded at the famed AIR Studios in London and features solo vocal performances by renowned Welsh soprano Elin Manahan Thomas, ethereal choir, and a tragically beautiful orchestral accompaniment.
