Solace is the second studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter and Grammy Award winning Sarah McLachlan. Known for her emotional ballads and mezzo-soprano vocal range, Sarah McLachlan has sold over 30 million albums worldwide.

Originally released in 1991, Solace was the album that first made Sarah a star in Canada, spawning the hit singles "The Path of Thorns (Terms)" and "Into the Fire" and being certified double platinum for sales of 200,000 copies in Canada. Solace also marked the beginning of her partnership with Pierre Marchand. Marchand and McLachlan have been collaborators ever since, with Marchand producing many of McLachlan's albums and occasionally co-writing songs.

The album received favourable reviews internationally and was a good step towards Sarah's commercial breakthrough outside of Canada, which came with her third full album, Fumbling Towards Ecstasy [MOVLP1744].

The album includes the bonus track "Wear Your Love Like Heaven", an amazing cover of the classic Donovan song.
