Room Eleven is a Dutch band that familiarized itself with several styles of music. Their songs contain elements differing from pop to jazz, but also blues and boss nova.

In 2001 Room Eleven saw its origins when lead singer Janne Schra posted a note on Utrecht's Music College's message board seeking someone to write songs with. Arriën Molema responded and they started writing music together. In August 2004, Tony Roe, Lucas Dols and Maarten Molema joined the group on keyboard, double bass and drums, respectively. That same year they played for the first time on stage at the Amsterdam's Uitmarkt.  The band (still unnamed) had to choose a band name for this concert in order to perform. When singer Schra looked in her diary later, she noticed they planned a rehearsal in room 11. The name Room Eleven was formed as a result.

With their 2006 debut album Six White Russians And A Pink Pussycat they have managed to impress an increasingly bigger audience with a catchy mixture of jazz, pop, funk, blues and a touch of folk. The name of the album contains the names of several cocktails and went platinum within the year.

Not only music fans have come to appreciate the band, Room Eleven also managed to convince the press. One magazine described Janne Schra's voice as "a juicy green meadow, just after sunset, covered in fresh dew".  As one radio DJ put it: "She seduces you, moves you and makes you happy, all in one sentence".
